When you’re a photographer – and a mom – you’ll know this too well.

I don’t know which I treasure more, shooting engagements, weddings or anniversaries.

I met Brianna through a local moms group about three years ago. She’s always struck me as a beautiful, confident, outgoing and strong lady. She inspires such positive feelings in the people around her with her bubbly personality and infectious zest for life. And now that I’ve met her other half, David, and her family, I can’t help but be a little envious of how much love surrounds her. Only because she has so much love to give.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Brianna and David. I wish you decades more of marital bliss and happiness!

I got to spend a morning with Deanna at the Pike Place Market taking pictures for her new book. Deanna, who has a PhD in nutrition, has written three books on food from her home in Port Orchard, Washington.

Deanna has a light in her eyes and such an easygoing smile that made taking pictures of her such a joy.

We were at Pike Place on the day the Flower Festival began. It was 8 in the morning and it was already starting to get busy.

My friend Badieh surprised her mom with a little makeover and photoshoot. Donna got a haircut and makeup done at Duvall’s very own The Bee’s Hive. Doesn’t she look breathtaking?

Maggie and Mark share a remarkable story. They met at university 30 years ago, fell in love, broke off. 30 years later, they found each other again at, of all things, a funeral. Changed much?

“Not really,” said Mark. “She’s still the same happy Maggie.”

“And he’s exactly the same!” laughed Maggie.

“We just picked up where we left of.”

It’s been a while since I’ve taken some pictures of myself.

That’s because, as with most photographers, I don’t like it. I am better behind the camera than I am in front of it.

But it helps to have an awesome husband who made me feel very comfortable and sexy – maybe a little too comfortable.

So without further ado, this is me.

Actually, THIS is the real me. Goofing around is how I get most of my toughest subjects to crack a smile.

My husband was my photographer and he did a pretty good job, wouldn’t you say so?
