What a beautiful evening it was for a stroll through a deserted Pike Place, all wrapped up for the day. We started our shoot at the famed Post Alley bills wall.

Can these two be more engaged?

The new addition to the market opened up the lower deck to some lovely evening light, which we used to our advantage.

All the shops were closed for the day and we had the place to ourselves.

There was music playing so Catherine and Joel shared a private dance together in front of this cute little book store.

A quick change of outfits and we moved to the Olympic Sculpture Park.

I have not met a couple more comfortable with each other than Jill and Mike.

You know that it’s forever when a couple is able to laugh together and have fun in such…synchrony.

His unabashed sense of humor. Her infectious laughter. Jill has that kind of mirth you can’t help but bask in and let bathe over you. It’s that magical joyful glow that manages to elicit a giggle one day even years later, while sorting a sock drawer or drafting world peace. Add to that Mike’s witty comebacks and self-effacing antics and this photographer was finding it hard not to throw my head back in giggles every few minutes.

And what fabulous sense of style! Check out that fun teal and yellow combo, and Mike’s dapper fedora. Love it!

Suffice to say we had a blast. Jill and Mike, you are a dream to shoot. And now I can’t wait for your wedding at Lake Chelan next summer!

Sometimes, you meet a couple you just know are going to have an amazing life together. It’s more a feeling than an observation. The way the boy looks at the girl. The way the girl laughs, uninhibited and unafraid. The way everything seems to be…in sync.

Phuong and Tinh, despite having been apart most of their relationship (he works in CA, she lives here in Seattle), is one such couple. They have beaten the odds to make it work, and with so much of their love still obviously intact.

This is for you, Phuong and Tinh. I am excited to shoot your wedding!

Kimberlie and Tim traveled all the way from Tacoma today for their engagement session in the rustic Snoqualmie Valley. Engaged just a while ago, this session has special meaning, for Tim will be deployed to Iraq in a week.

By the time our shoot started, the storm clouds had rolled in. All day today, rain threatened, but not before we took these beautiful shots by our famous Duvall welcome wagon.

I never get tired of this wagon.

I asked Kim how she felt about Tim’s deployment. “I’m just scared at this point,” she said. But she believes that if they can survive the next year, they will be able to survive anything. That is faith for you.

As we started our 5-minute journey from Duvall to Carnation, the clouds finally gave way and poured a furious rain over the valley. And still, we did not give up because I was determined to shoot at this cute little vintage gas station in Carnation.

And whaddya know? The moment we stepped out of my van, the rain eased up and some sun broke through.

And then we traveled to Tolt MacDonald Park for my favorite red barn.

I asked Kim and Tim if they would run into a puddle and jump in it for me. And they did!

All that rain and sunshine made a rainbow towards the end of our shoot. What luck!

We’d wanted to catch, one more time, the beautiful cherry blossoms at the UW Quad.

Sadly, they had mostly been washed away by the rains the last few days before our shoot.

Still, it was pretty and we were thankful for the morning sun!

To cheer Thy up (because the cherry blossoms had gone), her fiance Thuan caught a falling bloom for her. Isn’t that sweet?

Thy in a tree! She was such a sport, eager to get that shot despite having to hike up her skirt and go tree climbing. Love this shot, taken right after she made it up. She looks so happy up there!

Kayla and Thomas seem to be more like best friends than they are two people in love. It is infectious and heartwarming to see two people who connect so well. Their happiness and playfulness bubbles over, making smiles and tender moments that make them such a delight to capture.

Somebody left these flowers. Probably for the person this bench is dedicated to.

I met Kit through my fabulous assistant Cindy when I was back in Malaysia. This gorgeous lass has the looks to be a model. Which is GREAT for me

And Kevin isn’t too bad either!

Such tender moments!

Meeting fascinating people is perhaps the most fun part of my job. Julie found me through my work with petit couture and engaged me to shoot her wedding. Luc and she are also fellow photographers, and Julie is also starting her journey as a wedding photographer here in Seattle. I can’t say enough how honored and fortunate I feel to have become friends with these two lovely people.

We spent a beautifull rare dry October evening at Lincoln Park, Seattle. This is a park Julie and Luc love to visit, which made it the perfect spot for their engagement pictures. Just look at all the pretty fall colors. Everyone should experience fall in the Northwest once in their lives!
