Most people do not really think about it but timing when your baby pics are taken is crucial to the success of a great baby photo shoot. There are two optimum times for this: Newborns before 12 days old and babies at 6-8 months old. Most of the time, these are my two favorite ages.

This is when babies are able to sit independently, or with some support with their little itty bitty arms.

And they smile at ANYTHING. Just look at this little one.
