Where: Somewhere along the Sammamish river
When: A sunny day in July
“The last family picture we took was 11 years ago,” quipped mom Connie, as she showed me a framed studio portrait. Her hair was a fashionable wavy short cut. Husband Oscar did not look like he’d aged at all. And son Connor and daughter Devon were itty bitty little kids, no more than four or five.
“You look nice with longer hair,” I complimented her style today.
“Really? This is the longest I’ve worn it. I’ve always had short hair!” she laughed.
“Short, and RED,” said Oscar. “That was how I remember her, this girl with skis on her shoulders and flaming, red hair.”
“And I told myself, there she is. She’s the one.”

The boat that Connor built.

The sweet Devon.

Thanks for the pleasure, Blasers!
